Enterprise licensing

Migration to the cloud is an important topic that changes enterprise IT infrastructures around the world. Manufacturers’ pressure towards subscription business model is growing from all sides. Microsoft 365 E3 or Microsoft 365 E5 seem to be the optimal choice for larger organizations – one product, one price, all features. Price quoted as monthly, although the client is kept at least on annual commitment; although vendor-lock is actually hidden behind the subscription model.


However, we do not claim that the cloud is a priori bad. It provides many opportunities for real-time collaboration, space for data sharing without hardware and knowledge requirements, or easier licensing models. However, as the table on the left shows, the advantages and disadvantages are balanced, and therefore there is enough space for solutions that can combine the advantages of both licensing models. At PREDNY SLM, we call them Hybrid Solutions.

Hybrid solution

You don’t have to use the most expensive plans favoured by the manufacturer at all costs, because lower plans (such as Microsoft 365 E1 or Microsoft Office 365 F3) combined with Microsoft’s perpetual on-premise licenses will allow you to achieve the same features and functionalities.
