Hybrid solutions as an ideal combination of cloud services and on-premise licenses

You are considering moving to cloud plans Microsoft 365, Office 365 or buy perpetual licenses? It is important to be aware of the needs of your organization and to be able to determine which applications your employees actually use. Cloud services bring many benefits in terms of updates and easier scalability, however payment must be made regularly for the services provided. We will not discuss this article differences between cloud and on-premise solutions, but we will show you how, thanks to the connection of both worlds, you will get the functions you require at a lower price.

Hybrid solutions

We specialize in hybrid solutions that combine benefits perpetual licenses and subscriptions. We always design such combinations, thanks to which you will save significantly and you will not lose any key functions. In the Hybrid solution, you take advantage of cloud services and have all the applications that your employees really need.

We build hybrid solutions on cheaper cloud plans, so you don't lose benefits such as easy deployment, access from anywhere, high scalability or shared storage. We supplement these services with desktop applications with free market licenses in order to achieve high savings while maintaining the range of functions of higher subscription plans. The greatest savings can be achieved in combination with secondary licenses of older versions of these applications (eg Office 2016).

Hybrid O365 E3 Deployment Case Study

An organization of 300 users is considering purchasing a cloud package Office 365 E3. He wants to purchase the E3 plan mainly due to the need of Office suites for all users. It also does not want to install the local version of Exchange and SharePoint server and purchase related ones CAL license (does not want local cloud). When using the Office 365 E3 package, the company will pay 22,6 € per user per month. The amount climbs up to 81 360 € per year for all users.

As part of the Hybrid Solution, we proposed to purchase a cloud package instead of Office 365 E3 for this organization Office 365 E1 together with permanent free market licenses, in this case Office 2016 Professional Plus. Why? The most significant difference between cloud plans is the availability of Office desktop applications in the E3 edition (learn more about the differences between Office 365 plans), which is the main reason why we choose the cheaper E1 cloud plan and combine it with permanent secondary licenses Microsoft Office.

Other additional functions that complete the difference between packages E1 and E3, such as Data Loss Prevention or Information Protection for Microsoft 365, the customer does not currently need it, but can purchase it separately at any time. Prices for separate services are generally low, so the advantage of financial savings remains.

The following table shows the costs that the company would pay for both variants. With a stand-alone cloud solution, the company pays regular amounts for all users. The costs of the Hybrid solution are lower in the first year. The turning point in the investment occurs as early as the 12th month after the acquisition of the licenses. In four years, the company would pay 325 440 € on the Office 365 E3 subscription, while it would pay only 170 280 € on the Hybrid solution.

Thanks to Hybrid Licensing
